In the shadows of every household lives a peculiar being known as the Skludger. If you know what to look for, you can see signs of its visit. Known to many as an urban myth, the Skudgler is in fact a soft-skinned survivor with a penchant for night time mischief.

These diminutive beings dwell within the dark recesses of drains and sewers. They emerge only after the cover of darkness, as residents slumber, with one goal in mind. To feed on soap. Their bodies, no larger than a child's fist, can contract and squeeze into the tightest gaps. It uses its tentacles, which can stretch ten-fold the creature's body length to adhere to surfaces and crawl towards its 'prey' (soap).

Their presence is mostly marked by small, circular pockmarks left by their tentacles on the shower glass, often dismissed as soap scum. Another feature is the presence of vivid, pink trails often explained away as mold.

Despite their mischievous antics, Skludgers are harmless and skittish creatures. They have an acute, and highly refined sense of hearing - likely due to the complete lack of eyes. They can detect the heartbeat and movements of any creature within 20 metres.

The Skludger uses its beak, not just to feed, but to tap against hard surfaces to create a sonar effect allowing it to take in its surroundings. A curious development of the creature is its antennae found atop its head. These are highly tuned to detect the tallow from soap and can lead the creature towards its chosen food source. They can even detect the 'flavour' of the soap - all evidence suggests lavender-scented is its most prized target.

Should the Skudgler detect movement, or it has gorged enough soap, it will retreat immediately into the safety of the sewer. Using its tentacles to latch on to the nearest faucet the Skudgler will 'flush' itself down into its lair.

The presence of a steady drip, drip, drip of a tap in the night is among the only clues a Skudgler, an unsung creature of the night choosing to live on the periphery, has visited your abode.
