The presence of imposter syndrome following an unexpected burst of confidence often means you have come into contact with a Motivon as it glides through its puffed-up existence.
This creature resembles a series of inflated balloons. Its exterior, even its exposed brain, horns and snake-headed arms, are constructed facades. It acts as a casing for its true form - a cluster of sentient hot vapor held together by sheer egomania.
The Motivon exists by boasting of its accomplishments from its two serpent-like hands, proclaiming its superiority and intellect to everyone around it. It truly believes its words, for it only speaks the truth. It is the smartest thing in any room, and its version of events is always, it says, the "most correct".
The creature features a fascinating and ironic paradox.
Each word of grandeur that spills from its toungues releases the vapor that makes it up. The creature is literally talking itself to death and, unless it can siphon confidence of others, it is doomed.
Luckily for the Motivon, its essence, once free from its form, can invigorate and empower those around it with fleeting bursts of confidence and self-belief.
This has been known to give newfound assurance. It allows people to conquer job interviews, muster the audacity to pursue romances, write novels, paint, draw and take on new challenges.
The Motivon, sucks this exuded confidence back through its body via its chest hose to reinflate and empower itself living off the confidence it instills in others via its bragging.
Once it has reabsorbed the confidence, it can lead those it motivated to deal with a sudden wave of imposter syndrome or doubt to set it. You can feel your skill was merely borrowed bravado, but do not fear.
The Motivon's influence only unlocks acts as a catalyst for our own confidence and ability often buried deep beneath doubt. It unlocks nascent skills, maybe skills we do not use, but they are there.
Often the delicate balance between false confidence and true potential lies the challenging first step belief. Even false, or borrowed belief. Embrace the Motivon's adage that you can "fake it till you make it" for that sudden burst of ego and confidence and illuminate a path of self discovery.
Ultimately, the Motivon teaches us that sometimes, a spark of bravado and self-assuredness ignites the brilliance that has long remained dormant within us.
And unlocking confidence in others is one achievement the Motivon can truly brag about.
